Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator who works for NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. She received an undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell began her career with KYW Radio and TV as the Philadelphia reporter in 1967. 1996, she was hired by WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent for NBC News two year later. From 1981 onwards she began covering the White House. In 1988, she became head of the congressional reporters. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell has been a panelist as well as anchor of the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist at the 1988 debates among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell was married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005, which was awarded by the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg Award in 2004 to recognize her efforts in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on for the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president. Mitchell covered a variety of notable news reports, including weapons control, the budget tax as well as the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also went to many summits with the help of President Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev.
